Supplementary Materials: Proof of Theorem 2.1

چکیده
Our argument can be loosely outlined as follows. The bulk of the work is devoted to bounding | ̃̀0(x)|, which takes several steps to accomplish. Taking x as fixed, we determine the choice of the points x̃j that maximizes | ̃̀0(x)| and then bound the maximum using integrals. Since the resulting bound is independent of x̃j , we can exploit symmetry to obtain bounds on | ̃̀k(x)| for k 6= 0. We then sum these bounds over k to obtain a bound on Λ̃N . We begin with the following result, which shows that to bound | ̃̀0(x)| we need consider only grids in which all the points, possibly aside from x̃0, are perturbed by the maximum amount of αh.

A Note on the Descent Property Theorem for the Hybrid Conjugate Gradient Algorithm CCOMB Proposed by Andrei
In [1] (Hybrid Conjugate Gradient Algorithm for Unconstrained Optimization J. Optimization. Theory Appl. 141 (2009) 249 - 264), an efficient hybrid conjugate gradient algorithm, the CCOMB algorithm is proposed for solving unconstrained optimization problems. However, the proof of Theorem 2.1 in [1] is incorrect due to an erroneous inequality which used to indicate the descent property for the s...

This is the supplementary material for the paper entitled “Self-Paced Learning with Diversity”. The material is organized as follows: Section 1 gives the proof of Theorem 1. Section 2.1 and Section 2.2 present the detailed experimental settings and results on the MED (Multimedia Event Detection) dataset. Section 2.3 and Section 2.4 present the settings and detailed results on the Hollywood2 and...
متن کاملA new proof for the Banach-Zarecki theorem: A light on integrability and continuity
To demonstrate more visibly the close relation between thecontinuity and integrability, a new proof for the Banach-Zareckitheorem is presented on the basis of the Radon-Nikodym theoremwhich emphasizes on measure-type properties of the Lebesgueintegral. The Banach-Zarecki theorem says that a real-valuedfunction $F$ is absolutely continuous on a finite closed intervalif and only if it is continuo...
متن کاملSupplementary Material for “Efficiency and Stability in Large Matching Markets”
The supplementary material consists of eight sections. Section S.1 provides the proof of Lemma 4 on the probability that a significant fraction of top tier objects are assigned via long cycles. Section S.2 proves Theorem 3 on the asymptotic inefficiency of DA. Section S.3 gives the formal details on how Erdös-Renyi theorem can be used to achieve asymptotic stability and asymptotic efficiency an...
متن کاملAnother proof of Banaschewski's surjection theorem
We present a new proof of Banaschewski's theorem stating that the completion lift of a uniform surjection is a surjection. The new procedure allows to extend the fact (and, similarly, the related theorem on closed uniform sublocales of complete uniform frames) to quasi-uniformities ("not necessarily symmetric uniformities"). Further, we show how a (regular) Cauchy point on a closed uniform subl...
